We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Profee Medical Coder with CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records, including clinical documentation, to assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding for outpatient procedures and diagnoses.
- Ensure accurate DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) assignments for hospital outpatient services.
- Collaborate with medical billing teams to facilitate correct claim submissions and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with all coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems efficiently to extract necessary information for coding purposes.
- Conduct audits of coded data to ensure accuracy and identify areas for process improvement.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding standards, and healthcare regulations to maintain certification compliance.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of DRG classifications, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems.
- Experience with medical billing processes and medical collection procedures.
- Proficiency in using EMR and EHR systems for documentation review and data entry.
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately and assign appropriate codes efficiently.
- Familiarity with medical office workflows and experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
