Position Overview
Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician with a strong industrial background to support ongoing work at water and wastewater treatment facilities in the North Salt Lake area. This opportunity offers the potential for long-term employment or direct placement with an established industrial contractor.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, controls, and power distribution equipment, while also being comfortable managing documentation, engineering specifications, and project paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems
- Perform electrical work within water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Install and terminate motors, control panels, disconnects, MCCs, and related equipment
- Assist with PLC-controlled systems, instrumentation, and process controls
- Install and support cable tray systems, conduit, and power distribution equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, blueprints, and engineering specifications
- Complete daily reports, documentation, and other project-related paperwork
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
- Follow all OSHA, NEC, and site-specific safety requirements
Qualifications
- Active Journeyman Electrician License required
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience preferred
- Previous experience in water or wastewater treatment facilities strongly preferred
- Proficiency with:
- PLC systems
- Motors and motor controls
- MCCs and VFDs
- Instrumentation and process controls
- Cable tray and conduit systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, plans, and engineering documents
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable handling administrative and back-office responsibilities
- Reliable transportation and ability to meet project demands
Preferred Experience
- Water treatment and wastewater treatment projects
- Industrial maintenance and troubleshooting
- Startup and commissioning
- Process automation systems
- Instrumentation and controls
- Engineering documentation and project coordination
Compensation & Benefits
- $40.00–$45.00/hour DOE
