Sewing Machine Technician – Part TimeOverview
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and mechanically minded Sewing Machine Technician to join our team.
Previous sewing machine repair experience is a plus, but it is not required for the right candidate. If you enjoy working with your hands, troubleshooting problems, and figuring out how things work, we are willing to provide training and send a qualified candidate for professional technician training.
This is a part-time position working with a variety of household sewing, quilting, and embroidery machines.
Wage is based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Clean, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sewing machines
- Diagnose issues based on customer concerns and machine performance
- Perform routine maintenance to keep machines operating at their best
- Test machines after service to ensure repairs and adjustments have been completed correctly
- Set up sewing machines and longarm quilting machines and ensure proper operation
- Learn the operation and service requirements of a variety of sewing machine models
- Work with the team to meet service goals and deadlines
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding repairs, parts, and machine concerns
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
- Follow established service procedures and quality standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous sewing machine repair or mechanical repair experience is preferred, but not required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
- Ability and willingness to travel for professional technician training
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to learn technical procedures, diagrams, and specifications
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- An interest in sewing machines, mechanical equipment, or hands-on repair work
