Job Overview:
The role is front of house, with means frequent customer interaction and it's crucial you've worked with espresso machines before.
Please note the listed hourly wage is base only, and front of house (baristas) will get 100% of customer tips. As we are a smaller shop, we don't have a large staff in front to split the tip pool - but that'll also mean you'll need to work independently.
Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages
- Operate espresso machines and other equipment to make quality drinks
- Prepare drink toppings
- Maintain cleanliness (wipe, mop, take out trash, dishes)
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system
- Pack cakes, croissants, and mochis based on customers' orders
- Assist in stocking and organizing inventory
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service
- Depending on shift, open or close processes
- Other duties as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience in the food service industry, in particular as a barista
- Proficiency in basic math for cash handling, and ringing up items accurately
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with operating a cash register or POS system is beneficial
