Job Overview
Santa Maria Latin Tapas is looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, and hospitality-driven Server to join our casual fine dining team. In this role, you will guide guests through an elevated Latin culinary journey focused on vibrant shared plates, thoughtful wine and cocktail pairings, and attentive service. You'll play a central role in creating a warm, polished, and memorable experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional service by guiding guests through our Latin tapas menu, daily specials, and beverage pairings.
- Articulate the ingredients, flavor profiles, and culinary inspiration behind small-plate concepts to encourage group sharing.
- Accurately take food and drink orders, inputting them promptly into the POS system.
- Manage table pacing to ensure tapas arrive in a well-timed, cohesive flow.
- Clear dishes, refill beverages, and maintain a pristine table setup throughout the meal.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen and bar staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests.
- Handle guest payments promptly and accurately.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous serving experience (casual fine dining or upscale concept) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Latin cuisine, tapas dining style, or a enthusiasm to learn.
- Solid foundation in wine, spirits, and craft cocktail knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities.
- Warm personality with a passion for hospitality and teamwork.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays weighing up to 20 lbs for extended periods.
