Job Summary
We are a retail/wholesale distributor of ceramic tile and stone products that has been in business for over 73 years. Our showroom and warehouse are located in the central part of Cranston, Rhode Island. We are a locally owned business with a total of 25 employees.
We are looking for a full-time employee to be a part of our trucking and warehouse team.
We are seeking a truck driver with a Class B or Class A CDL license to deliver our material to established customers in the RI, MA, CT and NH areas on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You would be responsible for safely operating a 28-foot straight truck with a capacity of 33,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. All of our material is securely packed on pallets, and our trucks all have liftgates for delivering our products. The average number of stops per day is between 5-10. Our drivers normally begin their days between 6-7am, and are finished by 1-3pm.
On Mondays and Fridays, you will be part of our warehouse team. Our warehouse is a fast-paced, safe work environment, and potential candidates must be capable of working efficiently and have great attention to detail. Essential duties include reviewing customer orders and identifying items to pick and pack for delivery or pick-up. Orders are packed using a stock picker with a safety harness. Experience with a stock picker is not necessary as we offer that training and certification as well. This position will require heavy lifting of our products which can weigh up to 40-60 pounds per carton. Our warehouse hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm.
This is a full time position that averages between 40-44 hours per week. This is an hourly paid position ($23-$25/hour) with an overall compensation package range between $55,000-$59,000 per year. Responsibilities:
· Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
o Safely drive and operate a heavy truck
o Unload cargo with a pallet jack and a lift gate
o Pick up returned material from our customers
o Occasional jobsite deliveries to residential and commercial locations
o Properly track and document activity logs
o Report any issues or incidents to the Warehouse Manager
o Inspect the truck before and after each trip
o Assist warehouse staff once your delivery run has been completed
· Mondays and Fridays
o Accurately pull and assemble customers’ orders
o Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage-free
o Receive and unload inbound material
o Move, store, and replenish material
o Load materials on to trucks and customer vehicles
Qualifications:
- Commercial driver's license - Class B
· High school diploma or GED
· Safe driving record
· Strong attention to detail and work ethic
· Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Honesty, respect, responsibility, and a willingness to work hard for fair compensation
· Ability to handle physical workload, manually move and lift heavy products
· Must be a team player and take pride in providing excellent customer service
· Ability to read and write in English
· Successfully complete and pass pre-employment background check
· Previous experience is a plus - but not a requirement
· Experience using a stock picker is a plus, but is not required. We can provide training.
