Weekend Lead Cook / Part-Time Kitchen Leader
Westsider Diner & Lounge is looking for a dependable, experienced cook to join our team as a Weekend Lead Cook / Part-Time Kitchen Leader.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in their work, and can help keep a busy kitchen organized, positive, and running smoothly.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced line cook who is ready to take on a little more responsibility without committing to a full-time management position.
The Schedule :
We’re looking for someone available for a consistent weekend schedule: Thursday OR Friday through Sunday. Exact hours will vary based on the needs of the kitchen, but this position is primarily focused on our busiest weekend service periods. Minimum of 25 hour commitment required, potential to grow the role with our team.
What You'll Do:
Lead the kitchen during weekend shifts - Work the line and maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and properly stocked
- Help coordinate prep and make sure the team is ready for service
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Help coach and support other cooks when needed
- Follow Westsider recipes, procedures, and food-safety standards
- Help troubleshoot problems during service and keep the team moving
- Set the tone for a professional, respectful, team-oriented kitchen
- Communicate important issues and shift notes to the Executive Chef

Compensation:
Competitive hourly pay based on experience and leadership ability. The right candidate will have the opportunity to earn more than a standard line-cook position because of the additional responsibility that comes with leading weekend service.
