Job Overview
Eco Staff is hiring a skilled Low Voltage Technician for projects throughout the Austin, TX area. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, security systems, access control, fire alarms, and audiovisual equipment. This position is best suited for someone with strong technical abilities and hands-on field experience in commercial or residential environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic systems.
- Route and secure cabling infrastructure using conduit, cable trays, and ladder racks.
- Complete IDF/MDF room build-outs with accurate labeling, clean terminations, and adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair low-voltage systems to maintain reliable performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical drawings for accurate installations.
- Follow safety regulations and industry best practices on all job sites.
- Work efficiently both independently and alongside team members on commercial and residential projects.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, supervisors, and project teams throughout each phase of the project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a low voltage technician specializing installations.
- Certified (Preferred) OSHA 10/30, Scissor Lift/Aerial, etc.
- Strong troubleshooting, cable termination, and testing abilities.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with power tools is essential.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and work on ladders/lifts and in confined places.
- Knowledge of how security systems are set up and work, including CCTV cameras, alarms, sensors, and access control systems.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
