Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by evaluating oral health status and recording vital signs
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and medical records
- Take and interpret radiographs (X-rays), ensuring quality images for accurate diagnosis
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to deliver seamless patient care experiences
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting
- Proficiency with dental terminology, medical coding, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for medical documentation and records management
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and coordinate with the dental team
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
