Job Summary
Specialty Ice Distribution Delivery Route Drivers use company provided delivery trucks to visit established accounts including local convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, and various other customers. Typically, a normal day on the job consists of an average of 10 - 15 deliveries a day. Upon arriving at the customer's location, drivers are responsible for delivering product, invoicing via point-of-sales system, and basic communication/interaction with the customer. Experience is not necessary; we will train employees through our established training program. There is no selling involved, customers expect us to keep them in stock at all times. In addition, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid driver's license
- Have a good driving record
- Pass pre-employment background check and DOT physical
- Have ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Bring a positive attitude
Responsibilities
- Drive assigned routes using a box truck, ensuring timely deliveries to customers.
- Load and unload products at various locations, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients during delivery.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in warehouse operations when not on the road, including inventory management and organization.
Skills
- Experience driving box trucks is highly desirable.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
