The Albatross, an upscale full-service restaurant/bar located at the Country Club of Sebring is seeking a motivated Front-of-House Manager to oversee the dining room, bar, and reception areas. Individual will be responsible for driving guest satisfaction, managing the service team, overseeing daily logistics including inventory ordering/management, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring smooth communication with the back of house. This is a full-time, salaried position that will attend and contribute to weekly management meetings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Hiring & Training: Recruit, onboard, and continuously train hosts, servers, bussers, and bartenders.
- Scheduling: Create and optimize weekly shift schedules to meet labor cost targets and service demands.
- Motivation: Track staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
Guest Satisfaction & Service Execution
- Guest Relations: Ensure every guest receives welcoming hospitality. Proactively check on tables during service to gauge satisfaction.
- Complaint Resolution: Respond efficiently and empathetically to customer concerns, turning negative experiences into positive ones.
- Floor Control: Act as the "conductor" of the dining room—optimizing floor plans, managing reservations, and controlling atmosphere (music, lighting, and cleanliness).
Operational & Financial Duties
- Cash Handling: Manage, balance, and audit daily and nightly cash drawers, tips, and safe drops.
- Tech Stack Proficiency: Act as a power user for restaurant technology software. Experience with Toast is a plus.
- Inventory Control: Track and order FOH supplies (glassware, napkins, beverage, etc.) and monitor inventory to minimize waste.
- Compliance: Ensure all areas adhere to health, sanitation, safety, and local alcohol/food service regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Kitchen Liaison: Maintain clear lines of communication between the serving team and the kitchen staff.
- Event Coordination: Assist with the execution of private dining and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Experience: Prior management experience in hospitality. Restaurant experience at a golf course preferred. Developing and managing a strong social media presence.
- Soft Skills: Professional. Excellent communication skills, conflict resolution, strong leadership, and the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to be a true “team player” and roll their sleeves up to satisfy the customer and meet corporate goals. Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and administrative. Ability to anticipate and respond to customers’ needs.
