Overview: We are a well-established, family owned/operated and customer-focused liquor store committed to offering quality service and a wide selection of wine & spirits. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our small team as a Sales/Stock Associate.
Job Description: This role is customer-facing, and requires retail experience and strong customer service skills. Preference will be given to liquor-industry specific experience. You will be assisting customers in making selections, ringing sales, stocking product, and bringing purchases curbside. You will also be receiving weekly deliveries, and organizing and maintaining the stockroom and rotating displays. Basic cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and running garbage and recycling are expected. The ability to occasionally assist with local deliveries is greatly appreciated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with unloading, sorting, stocking deliveries.
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately.
- Process returns, exchanges and gift cards.
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Check IDs to ensure legal compliance with alcohol sales.
- Restock shelves, refrigerators, and displays as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store. Tasks such as cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and garbage removal will be expected.
- Maintain an efficient and orderly stockroom area.
- Monitor inventory and inform management of low-stock items and customer requests.
- Adhere to all safety and store policies.
- Communicate effectively with customers to answer questions and provide product information.
- Communicate effectively with business owner via text & phone.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Previous retail or cashier experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Excellent communication skills.
Availability: Applicants MUST have weekend availability, and be willing to work on the days leading up to major holidays and, in some cases, on the holidays themselves. These include, but are not limited to, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the 4th of July.
