Independent Contractor | Commission Only | 50% Gross Profit Commission
Tech Tool is hiring a limited number of experienced outside sales professionals for a high-income industrial sales opportunity focused on manufacturing customers.
This is an independent contractor, commission-only role. There is no base salary, draw, mileage reimbursement, vehicle allowance, health insurance, paid time off, 401(k), or company-sponsored benefit package.
Compensation is based solely on commissions earned from approved new business generated by the contractor. Commission is calculated as 50% of gross profit per sale and is payable only after Tech Tool receives full, cleared customer payment.
The posted earnings range reflects potential annual commission earnings and is not a guaranteed salary or wage.
Tech Tool supports cutting tools, metalworking fluids, abrasives, workholding, MRO, coolant systems, VMI, and industrial sourcing through 200+ manufacturer lines, with access to thousands more on request.
This is not a standard outside sales role. It is a performance-based opportunity for a proven hunter who understands manufacturing customers, machine shops, industrial purchasing, tooling, coolants, MRO, safety, welding, CNC, or related industrial supply channels.

What You Will Sell
Tech Tool supports manufacturing and industrial customers across production-critical categories, including:
Cutting tools
Metalworking fluids and coolants
Abrasives
Workholding
Machine accessories
Metrology
MRO supplies
Safety products
Shop supplies
Coolant systems and fluid maintenance
Industrial sourcing
VMI and inventory support
Custom quoting and product crossovers
You do not need to know every category on day one. You do need to understand how industrial customers buy, how to ask the right questions, and how to build trust with plant managers, purchasing teams, machinists, maintenance teams, engineers, and ownership.
Who We Are Looking For
This role is for a true outside sales hunter.
Strong candidates may come from:
Industrial distribution sales
Cutting tool sales
Metalworking fluid or coolant sales
MRO sales
Welding or gas sales
Safety supply sales
CNC machine tool sales
Manufacturing sales engineering
Industrial account management
The strongest candidates will have experience selling into machine shops, manufacturing facilities, tool and die shops, fabrication shops, aerospace suppliers, automotive suppliers, medical manufacturing, industrial maintenance departments, job shops, or production machining environments.
Responsibilities
Develop new business with manufacturing and industrial customers
Identify opportunities for tooling, coolant, MRO, safety, sourcing, VMI, and related supply needs
Build and manage a territory or approved account base
Work with Tech Tool’s inside team to quote, source, and fulfill customer requirements
Document account activity, opportunities, and customer needs
Maintain professional follow-up with prospects and customers
Protect company relationships, pricing, supplier information, and confidential business information
Focus on profitable, repeatable, long-term business
Compensation
This is an independent contractor, commission-only outside sales opportunity.
Compensation includes:
50% commission on gross profit from approved new business generated by the contractor
Uncapped commission potential
Commission paid after customer payment is received and cleared
No base salary or draw
No mileage reimbursement or vehicle allowance
No health insurance, paid time off, 401(k), or company-sponsored benefits
House accounts and existing protected accounts are excluded unless approved in writing
Account ownership and commission eligibility must be approved by Tech Tool management
Commission applies only to approved, profitable business that follows company pricing and margin standards

Account Rules
Tech Tool has an established customer base, protected house accounts, supplier relationships, pricing data, and confidential business information.
To keep the program clean and fair:
House accounts are protected
Existing Tech Tool accounts are excluded unless approved in writing
New account ownership must be approved by management
Commission eligibility must be tied to documented sales activity
Confidentiality and non-solicitation agreements are required
Pricing, supplier access, customer information, and internal systems must be protected
Low-margin or unapproved business may not qualify for commission
Requirements
Prior outside sales experience required
Industrial, manufacturing, tooling, coolant, MRO, welding, safety, CNC, or related sales experience strongly preferred
Ability to prospect, visit customers, and generate new business
Strong communication and follow-up skills
Professional judgment with customer relationships and confidential information
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work independently
Comfort working under an independent contractor, commission-only structure
