We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and team-oriented Dietary Manager to lead the dietary department at our long-term care nursing facility in Mobile, Alabama. This is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing food service operations, regulatory compliance, and ensuring exceptional care and service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the dietary department
- Supervise and support dietary staff, including employee scheduling, interviewing, hiring, training, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal long-term care guidelines
- Complete nutrition-related documentation, including MDS and dietary assessments
- Oversee food ordering, inventory management, and cost control
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet residents' dietary needs
- Maintain a positive, professional work environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department head meetings
- Utilize dietary and administrative software confidently
Qualifications:
- Previous long-term care experience required
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience in a food service setting
- Proficient in computer use and dietary software systems
- Strong skills in inventory, ordering, scheduling, and staffing
- Positive attitude with the ability to work well with all departments
