Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental practice in South Boston.
Previous experience in a dental office is a must.
The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance verification while providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to ensure effective communication with diverse patient populations. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle insurance authorizations efficiently
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating medical records and documentation review
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle billing inquiries related to medical billing and coding, including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; assist with appointment rescheduling and inquiries
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and maintain confidentiality
- Assist in clinic operations by coordinating care plans and supporting medical administrative support functions
Skills
- Experience in OpenDental and DentalXChange.
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Front Desk Receptionist in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing)
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally and courteously
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical billing procedures
- Ability to review documentation accurately and manage medical records efficiently
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for effective communication with diverse patient populations
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in clerical tasks such as filing and documentation review
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and healthcare regulations is essential
- This role is integral to the smooth operation of our dental practice by ensuring efficient administrative workflows while providing outstanding service to our patients.
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
