Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity
- Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, ensuring merchandise is stocked and well-presented
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to engage customers and highlight key features of items
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and assisting with inventory management
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience or familiarity with POS systems is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and calculating totals or discounts
- Bilingual abilities are required to better serve diverse customer needs
- Demonstrated phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or in person
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
