JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant (CCMA)/Phlebotomist
REPORTS TO: Clinic Operations Manager
STATUS: Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION RANGE: $20-$22 per hour
Note: Compensation based on factors such as job duties, education level, position autonomy and supervisory responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: Choice Health Network is seeking an experienced Lead MA with excellent phlebotomy skills to assist in examination and treatment of patients. The Lead MA is the primary liaison between clinical staff and management, combining high-level patient care with supervisory and administrative responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide safe patient care.
- Develop effective working relationships and communications with members of the health team.
- Answer and return phone calls in a timely manner.
- Schedule lab appointments or nurse visits.
- Obtain and document medical histories.
- Update patient charts.
- Submit prior authorizations/precertification for medication/imaging.
- Submit referrals.
- Administer medications/injections.
- Obtain vitals.
- Phlebotomy.
- Exam rooms are fully stocked.
- Other administrative duties, as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Proficient Venipuncture Skills
- Experience providing leadership.
- Experience in EMR/PM systems.
- Providing non-judgmental holistic medical care
- Experience making referrals and communicating with outside medical services, including prior authorizations and pre-certifications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Experience in a Primary Care Clinic/Outpatient setting.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p
