F&W Construction Company is a rapidly growing, third-generation Alaskan construction company that started in 1958. For more than 65 years, we have delivered construction services to public and private owners throughout the state of Alaska. We are looking for AP & Payroll Specialist.
The AP & Payroll Specialist reports to the Controller and handles all day-to-day activities in Accounts Payable and Payroll. This is a full-time, in-person-only role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages company wide timecard entry and payroll
- Manages daily, weekly, and monthly Accounts Payable activities including invoice processing, uploads, disbursements, document retention and storage process.
- Oversees and ensures accuracy of credit card, purchasing card and vendor account reconciliations
- Administers company credit card, including banking interaction, training, cardholder oversight.
- Manages payables to comply with monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of accounts payable data in the general ledger.
- Ensure proper coding using job costing principals.
- Ensure timely processing and issuance of 1099s
- Manages vendor documentation, such as W-9s, COIs, and certified payrolls.
Non-Essential Duties:
- Provides accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
- Assists with implementation of new systems and procedures to increase the efficiency of accounts payable processing and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Associates Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field
- Preference given to candidates with experience utilizing Sage Accounting Software and/or HH2.
- Construction payroll (including certified payroll) experience.
