JOB SUMMARY
The Professional Learning Consultant provides support and leadership to local educators and administrators by designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive, high-quality professional learning programs that benefit schools and school districts. This role includes delivering training to educators and administrators on Ohio initiatives and on content tailored to specific district needs. Additionally, the Professional Learning Consultant serves as a resource to ESC program supervisors, supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of ESC programs.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ohio State Board of Education license; administrative license preferred

Minimum of ten years of experience in education

Administrative experience preferred

Master’s Degree or higher preferred

Experience providing professional learning to teachers and administrators preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Act as a resource person for schools/school district personnel on topics aligned with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) priorities or Ohio State Board of Education initiatives

Work collaboratively with local administrators and educators to analyze data and identify potential learning needs

Using data on professional learning needs of schools/school districts, identify topics and issues that could be addressed through a comprehensive professional learning program

Research a variety of topics for the purpose of developing new professional learning programs that meet the needs of schools/school districts and that are aligned with ODEW priorities

Develop, deliver, and evaluate a high-quality, systemic, and coordinated research-based, engaging professional learning program of workshops or e-learning for educators and school administrators that promotes school improvement, student achievement, and improved effectiveness

Evaluate training effectiveness using data and stakeholder feedback; analyze and use data to improve the professional learning program

Organize and provide professional learning for state initiatives (e.g., OTES, OPES, OSCES, RE mentor training, PBIS)

Serve in a consultant/coaching role to support schools/school districts in decision-making and improvement initiatives

Build strong relationships with school/school district leaders and subject matter experts to ensure professional learning programs are research-based and aligned to school/school district goals and initiatives

Ensure that programming is designed to provide full access and opportunity to all stakeholders

Assist in publicizing professional learning and coordinating logistics for professional learning events

Develop and facilitate educational projects, programs, and activities to support and improve ESC programs

Organize special projects aligned to ESCLEW’s mission and vision

Prepare and submit all required reports
