The Opportunity
Reporting to Head Cook, the Senior Cook is responsible for the production of the assigned products (BBQ, Hot Food, Dim Sum, Sushi and Other Finished or Semi-finished Products) based on orders received. She/he is also responsible for assisting Head Cook to prepare food, check quality/quantities of the receiving food ingredients/products, carry and store products received, maintain cleanliness of kitchen utensils, including tools, containers, clothes, towels, production/food storage areas.
You Will:
- Based on orders received/production plan, prepare, handle, clean, cut, marinate, cook and produce the right quantity of foods for the assigned section, including but not limited to, BBQ, Hot Food, Dim Sum, Sushi and Other Finished or Semi-finished Products
- Responsible for the storage of ingredients/product including incoming stocks
- Ensure proper receiving is done and food is stored in the appropriate conditions
- Responsible for his or her own station, ensuring that all items are appropriately cleaned and ready for use before and after each shift
- Ensure recipes, ingredient specifications, quantity, quality, cooking time as stated in the SOPs are being executed
- Ensure the kitchen meets sanitation standards as set by the Head Chef, Food safety team, and public Health authority
- Ensure product quality, food safety, freshness, and FIFO is strictly practiced within the department
- Ensure that food is properly stored and handled at all times and ensure all temperature records are properly maintained
- Responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation, equipment/tools maintenance and ensure garbage, recycled materials and other disposable items are handled timely and properly
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior(s)
You Should Have:
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Possess knowledge, skills, and experiences in making Kitchen products (BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi and/or others Semi-finished Products)
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety protocols.
- Able to communicate in English, proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is advantageous
- Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.
- A good team player, capable of collaborating with and assisting
- Good organization, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service
- Positive, proactive, and self-motivated work ethic.
