Position Summary:
The Service Coordinator serves as the central link between field operations and the service
department. This role receives and prioritizes maintenance requests, creates and manages
work orders, coordinates parts procurement, schedules and dispatches mechanics, and
ensures repairs are completed efficiently with minimal equipment downtime. The position
also manages telematics geofences and supports equipment tracking and utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive maintenance and repair requests from field operations
- Create, prioritize, and manage work orders in the maintenance system
- Coordinate scheduling and dispatch of mechanics to job sites or shop locations
- Order parts and materials, track delivery, and ensure availability prior to repairs
- Communicate repair status, delays, and equipment availability to operations and
management
- Coordinate logistics for field repairs, including site access and equipment movement
- Maintain accurate service records, work order history, and repair documentation
- Create, update, and maintain geofences within the telematics system
- Monitor telematics alerts related to location, movement, and service needs
- Assist in tracking equipment downtime and service performance metrics
- Support preventive maintenance scheduling and compliance
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- Ability to manage multiple work orders simultaneously in a fast paced environment
- Clear, direct communication skills with field crews, mechanics, vendors, and
management
- Working knowledge of equipment maintenance processes
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems and telematics platforms
- High attention to detail and follow through
- Strong problem solving and prioritization abilities
Preferred Experience
- Experience coordinating maintenance for heavy equipment, fleet, or construction
operations
- Familiarity with telematics systems and geofencing
- Experience working with field based operations and service teams
