Purpose & Impact
The Assistant Guide supports the daily flow of the Montessori classroom by maintaining the integrity of the prepared environment. By working in harmony with the Lead Guide, the Assistant ensures that students are supported during work cycles and that the classroom remains a peaceful, productive space for discovery and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental Maintenance:
- Primarily responsible for the preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of the Montessori environment to ensure materials are complete and inviting.
- Assist the Guide in preparing curriculum materials and replenishing classroom supplies.
- Student Support:
- Act as a support person during classwork times, providing a calm and consistent presence.
- Work with individual students or small groups as directed by the Guide or Head of School to reinforce concepts.
- Assist in the daily monitoring of student work and safety.
- Classroom Harmony:
- Model the school's values of kindness and respect in all interactions with students.
- Assist in supervising transitions, outdoor play, and other non-instructional times to maintain the Montessori "grace and courtesy" standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Minimum of one year of teacher's assistant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Montessori Certification or a desire to pursue Montessori training.
- Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-teaching environment and follow developmental guidelines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
