Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns to accurately document issues.
- Use estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare detailed repair estimates.
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly to customers, explaining necessary services such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, transmissions, air brake systems, and collision repairs.
- Upsell additional services by identifying customer needs while maintaining transparency and integrity.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services like automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and routine maintenance.
- Manage cash handling processes securely and accurately process payments for services rendered.
- Maintain detailed records of all vehicle repairs, estimates, client interactions, and service history for future reference.
- Foster strong relationships with clients through excellent customer service and effective communication about vehicle maintenance plans.
Experience
- Proven experience in auto service writing or dealership service departments with familiarity in automotive repair processes.
- Hands-on mechanic experience or mechanical knowledge that supports understanding of complex systems such as transmissions, suspension components, brakes, shocks & struts, tire services, and oil changes.
- Skilled in using estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools for accurate assessments.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics to identify issues efficiently and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Strong background in auto service management or sales within the automotive industry.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on transparency and building trust.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential for test drives or vehicle inspections.
