Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our home healthcare team. The CNA provides essential support to our patients within the home setting. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with nursing staff to ensure the well-being of patients, assisting them with daily activities and medical needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide basic life support when necessary and respond promptly to patient needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Support hospice care by providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Utilize Wellsky Home Health EMR system for documenting patient information accurately.
- Lift and transfer patients safely using proper techniques to prevent injury.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient conditions and changes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant by the Virginia Board of Nursing
- Active CPR certification.
- Experience in home health is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Wellsky Home Health (formerly known as Kinnser) or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift patients safely, demonstrating physical strength and stamina.
- Compassionate approach to patient service, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with children is beneficial but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
