Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Deputy Trustee/Clerk, a vital role that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of township administration, you will support the Trustee in executing legal and administrative duties related to fire territory administration, park and recreation, cemeteries, township assistance and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assists with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Bank reconciliations and daily cash flow monitoring
- Financial processing and record management
- Budget planning reports and loan/debt tracking
- Coordinates Payroll processing through a third-party payroll provider
- Employee benefits administration
- Assists with Human Resources support, including onboarding processes
- Assists with vendor setup and vendor management
- Compliance oversight related to Indiana State Board of Accounts requirements
- Maintaining organized financial and administrative records
- Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and accounting software systems
- Learning and navigating multiple software platforms, including state-required accounting systems and QuickBooks
Experience
- Strong research skills with the ability to interpret legal documents and land records accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to handling inquiries from diverse stakeholders.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Resident of State of Indiana
- Strong financial/accounting background required.
- Experience in local or state government preferred.
- Quickbooks experience strongly recommended.
Pay: $46,058.72 - $54,361.00 per year
