American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU III/IV experience, including 1 full year in a Level IV NICU.

Work in the NICU of a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
-
Cares for neonates including those less than 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and greater than 34 weeks
-
Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
-
Manages post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation

Uses Epic EMR system

Day/evening shift schedule, 12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday

Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period

Floating required as needed

Active WI RN license or compact license required
-
Current BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA only)

PALS certification preferred
-
Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV experience with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU required
-
Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Prior travel nursing experience preferred, ideally including at least one Level IV NICU assignment

Experience with IV therapy, UAC/UVC management, neonatal dosage calculations, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) required

Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital setting

Perform skills such as arterial line management, central line care, blood glucose monitoring, phototherapy, and dysrhythmia interpretation

Support neonatal patients with conditions including respiratory distress syndrome, necrotizing enterocolitis, and neonatal abstinence syndrome

Provide patient and family education and developmental care support

Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates are not accepted

First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience will be considered
