A good candidate for this position will have the following skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
- Be attentive to details.
- Be experienced with Customer Service in an office setting (phone and in-person)
- Be willing to take initiative and follow up on outstanding matters while monitoring your workload.
- Be able to collaborate with a team or alone.
- Be willing to assist team members in the completion of tasks.
- Have some background of working in a medical environment (nice but not required)
DUTIES
- Organizing files and requesting additional documentation from multiple sources to complete a patient’s file.
- Utilization of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word will be required to update spreadsheets, prepare letters, and capture information related to the status of the file.
- Must be able to complete projects within the time allowed, be meticulous, be able to multitask, handle customer service inquiries both in person and by phone, always conduct themselves in a professional manner and be adept in following up on pending matters.
- Must be able to work independently to complete assignments, as well as support the team members in completing large scale assignments within the time limit assigned to the project.
- Will report to Management on the status of pending assignments and should also understand the importance of protecting the patient information.
- Some understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act regulations and knowledge of working with Protected Health Information is helpful.
