Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Micros or Aloha POS, ensuring special requests are noted
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling, credit card processing, and tips distribution
- Upsell menu items, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Maintain knowledge of wine pairings, spirits, and cocktail recipes to assist guests in making informed choices
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are consistently followed during food handling, serving, and cleaning procedures
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas quickly to prepare for the next guests
- Support host/hostess duties when needed by managing reservations through OpenTable or similar systems
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on guest relations
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros or Aloha POS for order entry and transaction processing
- Strong knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink presentation
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and sales calculations
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters guest loyalty
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in fine dining settings or high-volume restaurants is preferred but not required
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure
