About the Role
As an Electrical Controls Technician, you will act as a subject matter expert tasked with the upkeep, diagnostics, repair, and optimization of essential production machinery to guarantee safe and productive facility operations. You will deliver high-level electrical and controls expertise across a diverse array of assets, ranging from basic manual tools to sophisticated automated systems. By collaborating with engineering, maintenance, operations, and outside partners, you will be instrumental in driving equipment availability, output quality, and total plant efficiency. Please note that this role may involve on-call duties and extended hours depending on operational demands.
Primary Duties-
Identify and resolve faults within electronic, electrical, instrumentation, and electromechanical components across the site.

Review and adjust PLC logic, utilize electrical diagrams to guide repairs, and contribute to the enhancement of control systems.

Execute proactive and predictive maintenance routines to help boost equipment longevity and reduce unexpected outages.

Partner with engineering and operations staff to resolve intricate technical challenges and execute effective corrective measures.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to engineer and evaluate technical solutions that improve overall plant performance.

Verify that production machinery functions in alignment with original design parameters and operational goals.

Execute the installation, testing, and commissioning of new automation technology and capital improvement projects.

Oversee the repair process for control components, including the management of external service providers and essential spare parts.

Engage with OEMs and contractors to determine effective solutions that restore optimal equipment functionality.

Propose and execute process improvements to help foster a safer, more reliable, and higher-quality production environment.

Keep precise logs of all maintenance activities, system modifications, and technical documentation.

Pursue ongoing professional growth through certifications, training programs, and practical experience.
Required Competencies-
Advanced proficiency in diagnosing and repairing automation, electrical, and controls systems.

Expertise in analyzing technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.

Practical experience with PLC software and hardware, including the ability to perform basic programming updates.

Comprehensive understanding of control circuits, sensors, drives, motors, and AC/DC electrical power.

Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Capacity to manage varied tasks autonomously within a high-speed industrial setting.

Effective problem-solving and interpersonal communication abilities.
Essential Qualifications-
Completion of a GED or high school diploma.

Minimum of five years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical controls, or a related apprenticeship.

Proven background in providing technical support for industrial production or manufacturing assets.
Preferred Qualifications-
Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Automation, or a related discipline.

At least two years of professional experience in industrial controls or electrical work within a manufacturing facility.

Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting and programming PLC platforms like Siemens or Allen-Bradley.

Experience working with automated production systems, instrumentation, and variable frequency drives.
