JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: LAB TECHNICIAN

Quality Control
Supports the operation of the lab and performs tests and analyses as requested. Maintain documentation on all tests and evaluations.
Essential Functions:

Chemical (Spectro) Analyses: furnace, ladle, casting, and incoming scrap metal.

Microstructure: Nodularity of poured samples and microstructure etching.

Sand Testing: support for core making and molding processes;
- Routine maintenance and cleaning of test equipment and lab facilities.

Test Bars: collection, Hardness testing, and prepare for pick-up.

Defect Analyses: obtain material, sectioning, microstructural preparation, and review.

Customer Data for PPAP: Chemical analyses, Hardness testing, microstructural preparation, NDT, Hydrostatic testing, and review.

File and maintain production records for coremaking, molding, pouring and cleaning departments.

Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Skills or Experience Required:
High school diploma. Willing to follow all safety criteria. Some computer experience required. Ability to follow written instructions. Self Sufficient. Capable of learning to operate process and testing equipment.
Other Position Demands or Requirements:
Perform technical services and analysis.
