Seeking a senior-level Electrical Specialist to lead QA/QC, startup, commissioning, and energization activities on mission-critical data center projects. This role will oversee installation and commissioning of UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, and controls systems while coordinating with owners, contractors, OEMs, utilities, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery. 75% Travel (3 weeks on site, 1 week remote) All travel expenses covered
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical QA/QC inspections and deficiency resolution.
- Oversee installation, startup, and commissioning of UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Coordinate switchgear energization with utilities, commissioning teams, and owners.
- Troubleshoot electrical, controls, PLC, EPMS, and SCADA communication issues.
- Develop and execute permits, MOPs, and safety procedures (LOTO/PPE).
- Drive commissioning readiness, testing, and project turnover activities.
- Mentor junior MEP team members and provide project status updates.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of electrical or MEP construction experience.
- 2+ years supporting mission-critical/data center projects.
- Experience with QA/QC, commissioning, startup, and energization of electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, and power distribution.
- Experience troubleshooting controls, PLCs, EPMS, and SCADA systems.
- Experience issuing permits and MOPs.
- Proficiency with Procore.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Eaton, Schneider, Vertiv, ABB, or Mitsubishi UPS systems.
- Supervising UPS installation and startup.
- PDU installation and commissioning in data centers.
- Industrial automation, control panels, and PLC systems
Pay: $42.00 - $62.00 per hour
