Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities Include:
- Work under the direction of the Head Chef to lead the culinary execution of weddings, private events, and other catered functions
- Oversee all aspects of event kitchen preparation, production, service, and plating to ensure consistent quality and presentation
- Translate event menus and guest counts into organized prep schedules, production plans, and service timelines
- Lead and support the culinary team through event preparation and service, ensuring an efficient and well-organized kitchen
- Manage ordering, inventory, product utilization, and food cost controls with particular attention to event-specific needs
- Train line cooks and prep staff, ensuring the team is prepared for the demands of each event
- Maintain recipe accuracy, portioning standards, prep lists, and event-specific mise en place
- Monitor food quality, taste, temperature, timing, and presentation throughout preparation and service
- Work closely with the Head Chef, Event Managers, and FOH teams to coordinate timelines, guest counts, dietary needs, and service details
- Anticipate and troubleshoot production and service challenges while maintaining a calm, solutions-oriented kitchen environment
- Ensure dietary restrictions and allergies are communicated clearly and executed accurately
- Uphold sanitation, cleanliness, food safety, and workplace safety standards throughout all kitchen operations
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance feedback for culinary team members
- Maintain an organized kitchen, storage areas, equipment, and event production systems
- Support menu development, tastings, recipe testing, and seasonal updates alongside the Head Chef
- Comfortable using Google Workspace for schedules, event documents, prep lists, ordering, and team communication
We're Looking For a Candidate Who Has:
- 3+ years management experience
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Proficiency in ordering, inventory, and cost control
- An insatiable appetite to stay current on industry changes and trends to ensure our dining program is compelling and thought provoking
- The ability to work within an team
- A need to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing, seasonal menus for both our restaurant and on-site events.
- Passion for detail, consistency, and timing
- A desire to learn, grow and evolve as a culinary professional
- The ability to communicate , professionally and proactively with all departments to ensure a great staff/guest experience
- Experience with meat and fish fabrication
- An excellent record of kitchen and staff management
- A firm understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Approximate Schedule:
- Thursday 9:00am-3:00pm
- Friday 1:30pm-10:00pm
- Saturday 1:30pm-10:00pm
- Sunday 1:30pm-9:30pm
- Monday 1:30pm-9:30pm
Hours will change from our event season (May-Nov) to our winter season (Dec-Apr).
This is a full-time, year round position with room for growth.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $80,000-$90,000 Annual Salary
