General Duties:
The Summer District Social Worker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provides first aid to injured children and staff and everyday care of acutely ill children

and staff

Keeps daily records of students and staff seen in health room

Maintains comprehensive current health records on each student

Manages children with communicable diseases
-
Responds to frequently encountered health issues, providing counseling and crisis
-
intervention when required
-
Provides medically prescribed interventions
-
Administers over the counter medications per school physician certified standing orders
-
to students and staff

Collaborates with the parent/guardian and student to develop and implement an
-
individualized health care plan for student
-
Develops a nursing diagnosis and care plan with specific goals and interventions
-
Responds to child neglect or abuse issues (as required by Massachusetts statute)
-
Performs state mandated screening programs and provides appropriate referrals
-
Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the Manager of Health Services or
Director of Extended Learning
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a current teacher in the grades listed above who is passionate about leading this work.
Compensation: $3080 Stipend
Dates/Time: Summer school work and planning includes, but not limited to the summer school schedule which is: Summer School will run from June 29 - July 23. Educator hours are 8AM-12PM
