Job Overview
As a Quality Engineer in a machine shop located in Hayward, CA, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's Quality Management System. This critical role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines to uphold and enhance product quality.
Responsibilities
- Supports QMS Director with ensuring IMT and other sites meet the requirements of company standards ISO/QMS
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Assist and support the QC department with inspections and daily tasks.
- Supports/Leads audits including preparation, execution, reporting, and follow up to any findings.
- Maintains and improves the site QMS (including NCR and CAPA system, internal audit, training, etc.)
- Updates the Quality Manual and other documents specifically required by (ISO standards)
- Plans and manages the overall activities of receiving inspection and outgoing quality functions.
- Ensures timely resolution of supplier failures, supplier corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Monitors performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Develops, operates, and maintains the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) including but not limited to; Document Control, Training, Deviations, Change Controls and CAPAs
- Establishes and supports the Audit System which includes maintaining compliance to the Quality Audit procedure and serving as a subject matter expert for Quality Management System and Compliance related activities during internal and external audits.
- Partners/teams with stakeholders across the organization to address quality related issues and processes.
Requirements
- 5+ Years of experience or College Degree in quality
- CMM operating experience is required.
- Ability to operate a CMM using CMM Manager and understand/analyze data recorded to complete first article inspection reports.
- Strong team player and clear communicator.
- Self-starter that can multitask. Ability to work quickly/efficiently in a fast-paced environment is a must.
- Time management and organizational skills
- Experience in a machine shop environment is a must.
- Ability to read and interpret dimensions and tolerances on drawings and prints.
- Demonstrate strong mathematical skills.
- Use of microscope, hand tool, height gage, calipers, etc...
- Mechanical experience for inspecting sheet metal and sub-assemblies.
- Computer skill is a must. Operator-Level proficiency using computer software programs.
- Must be familiar with and have experience inspecting to ISO9001 standards.
- Knowledge/experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems required.
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerance knowledge per ASME/ANSI standard essential.
- Physical ability to operate machines
Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at times
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
