Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator for our manufacturing facility to work the full-time weekend shift. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of various industrial equipment used in plastics manufacturing and machining processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience with industrial machinery. Duties
- Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment using engineering knowledge and hand tools to minimize downtime.
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, including materials handling and fabrication tasks.
- Set up machines according to production specifications, adjusting parameters for optimal performance.
- Document production data accurately and maintain detailed logs for quality control purposes.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Support warehouse operations by managing inventory levels and ensuring proper storage of raw materials and finished goods.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating manufacturing machinery such as plastics blow molding, plastics extrusion, injection molding, CNC lathes, or press brake machines.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment effectively.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation control.
- Experience with quality inspection techniques using measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to measurements and machine settings.
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, or assembly processes preferred.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste and improving productivity.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of engineering troubleshooting techniques related to industrial equipment.
