Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and other heavy equipment components using OEM schematics and electrical diagnostics tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and alignment to keep machinery operating at peak efficiency.
- Repair and overhaul construction machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other heavy equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and fabrication skills.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues through detailed schematics analysis and mechanical diagnostics to identify root causes swiftly.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed reports on repairs performed, parts used, and inspections conducted for accountability and future reference.
- Assist in assembly and disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
- Support equipment troubleshooting during heavy lifting operations or construction projects to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in heavy equipment maintenance is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair, electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of performing precise assembly work on complex machinery.
- Familiarity with construction equipment servicing such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently; experience with heavy lifting is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software for automotive/equipment troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; customer service orientation is highly valued.
- Valid certifications related to diesel engine diagnostics, air brake systems, electrical systems or equivalent training are preferred.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
