The Maintenance & Facilities Technician ensures our building is safe, functional, and immaculate. This role requires a balance of routine custodial duties and light building repairs to maintain optimal daily operations. This is the primary point position for keeping our environment presentable, sanitary, and in good repair.
Job Requirements:

Cleaning & Sanitation

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly deep-cleaning of common areas, offices, conference rooms, and restrooms.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors. Dust and wipe down all surfaces.

Manage trash and recycling collection throughout the facility.

Sanitize high-touch surfaces to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.

Monitor and restock inventory of cleaning supplies and toiletries, reporting low stock to management.

Facilities Maintenance & Repair

Conduct routine inspections of the building to identify safety hazards, maintenance issues, or needed repairs.

Perform minor repairs, such as patching drywall, tightening loose hardware, replacing door hinges, and fixing leaky faucets.

Replace light bulbs, ballast, and ceiling tiles as needed.

Monitor building systems (e.g., HVAC) and perform basic filter changes.

Assemble, move, and repair office furniture and equipment.

Coordinate with and assist outside contractors for major repairs or specialized maintenance.
- Grounds Keeping & Safety

Ensure exterior walkways, entryways, and parking areas are clean and free of debris.

Assist with seasonal grounds upkeep, including snow and ice removal from walkways during the winter.

Check the functionality of safety systems, including emergency exits and fire extinguishers.

Respond promptly to on-site emergency maintenance requests.
Required Experience / Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience in commercial cleaning, building maintenance, or a related field.

Strong working knowledge of basic hand/power tools, cleaning chemicals, and safety protocols.
Additional Requirements:

Work is primarily performed on-site in both indoor and outdoor environments.

May require exposure to cleaning solvents, varying weather conditions (during exterior maintenance), and moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and regularly wear safety PPE properly, such as respirators, hearing and eye protection, and safety footwear. Required to be standing for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
