Job Title: Day Porter
Job Summary
As a Day Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality within the Nelson County school district. This is a daytime position (7am-3:30pm).
Your energetic approach to custodial and maintenance tasks will ensure that both commercial and residential spaces are welcoming and well-kept. You’ll be the go-to person for cleaning, floor care, and general upkeep, contributing to a positive environment for all visitors and employees.
What you’ll do
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and dusting to maintain a pristine environment.
- Execute floor care procedures such as buffing, waxing, and polishing to enhance the appearance of various surfaces.
- Assist with cleaning projects as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with team members on facilities maintenance tasks to ensure all areas are functional and inviting.
- Utilize commercial cleaning equipment effectively while adhering to safety standards.
- Engage with visitors and staff positively, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the facility.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong focus on cleanliness.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in commercial cleaning settings.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
