Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 12 Volt Technician to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing a wide range of electrical and electronic systems within vehicles, with a focus on 12-volt systems. Duties
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including lighting, alarms, remote starters, and audio/video components using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics.
- Install and troubleshoot advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as cameras, sensors, and radar units to enhance vehicle safety features.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately to ensure proper system connections and repairs.
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks including suspension system repairs, transmission system repairs, powertrain diagnostics, and diesel engine repairs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive diagnostic equipment to complete repairs efficiently and precisely.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify electrical issues related to vehicle systems like the transmission, powertrain, or electrical wiring.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working on diverse vehicle makes and models.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with ADAS technology installation and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools for diagnostics and repair planning.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle suspension systems, transmissions, powertrains, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service technician workflows.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately and perform complex electrical repairs on GM vehicles or similar brands.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle transmission system repair, diesel engine repair, and overall automotive repair processes.
- Excellent technical proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
