Injection Molding Tooling Specialist
The Opportunity
Our client runs a high-precision tooling and plastics manufacturing facility focused on complex, high-dollar mold applications. If you are looking for a clean, stable, and well-funded shop floor where your mechanical skills are respected and safety is prioritized over rushed production numbers, this is a legitimate career move. This role provides a predictable daytime schedule, modern equipment, and an environment built for technical specialists who take pride in precision.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will own the tool maintenance and reliability process, working directly with the engineering and toolroom teams to keep precision production molds running flawlessly.
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute the scheduled disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and precise reassembly of complex industrial molds.
- Toolroom Support: Troubleshoot tool wear and replace critical internal components like springs, pins, bushings, and inserts.
- Machining & Measurement: Read blueprints and operate standard manual toolroom machinery (mills, lathes, grinders) to perform minor modifications and adjustments.
- Logistics: Safely transport and manage heavy steel tooling using a forklift within the storage and work areas.
What We’re Looking For
We need a mechanically inclined professional who understands the care and precision required when handling high-dollar industrial tooling.
- Experience: Direct, hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance or mechanical tracking on production molds or tooling.
- Technical Skills: Competence reading blueprints, using standard precision measuring tools, and operating manual shop equipment.
- Capabilities: Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate a forklift to move heavy tooling.
