This is a full-time position.
Occupational Therapy & Assistive Technology Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for students, assessing fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-regulation, activities of daily living, and school-based functional performance.
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans and goals based on evaluation results and student needs.
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students to support participation and success in the educational environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to develop strategies and accommodations that promote student growth and independence.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and records in accordance with school policies and state regulations.
- Provide direct instruction and train to students in the effective use of assistive technology tools and software to support reading, writing, etc. while helping students develop independence and confidence in using assistive technology.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate assistive technology into classroom instruction and assignments.
Qualifications:
A New York State Occupational Therapy License is required.
Independent school experience preferred.
Strong classroom management, communication and organizational skills.
