Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to join our dynamic team. Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in laboratory science, biological science, chemistry or a related field; or education/work experience that meets the qualification for high-complexity testing personnel as defined by CLIA 42 CFR 493.1489.
Certification:
- Certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency is strongly preferred. Some laboratory disciplines may require specific certification or credentials.
- Acceptable credential include: MLS, MT, BB, C, CG, CT, H, M, MB, SCYM, CHT, or MLT with a minimum of 3 consecutive years of high-complexity laboratory experience.
Experience :
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a high-complexity clinical or reference laboratory.
- Experience with quality control procedures, instrument calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience with toxicology, molecular, PCR, serology or chemistry platforms. (Agilent LC/MS, Beckman Coulter Access II, Pentra XL80, Pentra C400, Quant Studio and Diasorin Liason)
- Familiarity with LIS systems and laboratory documentation standards.
- Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform moderate to high complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA, CAP and state regulatory standards.
- Perform procedures efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision, following FAIS policies and protocols
- Ensure proper labeling and processing of specimens.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Identifies QC discrepancies, initiate appropriate corrective actions, and notify supervisor when needed.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of instruments and testing processes.
- Utilize laboratory information management systems for data entry and management.
- Assist in the preparation of samples for analysis using various laboratory techniques.
- Document findings accurately in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Review and verify test results prior to release and report critical values within required timeframes
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks and prioritize workload to meet turnaround expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory techniques and methodologies.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
