Position Summary:
Jewish Gateways is seeking warm, creative, and enthusiastic educators to join our Growing Together teaching team. Our program runs September through May and combines creativity, community, and Jewish tradition in every session.
Who We Are: Jewish Gateways is an open, diverse, and innovative Jewish community in the East Bay. Our family-based learning program, Growing Together, meets twice a month on Saturday mornings in Berkeley. Children and parents learn both together and separately, creating a warm, positive atmosphere where families can explore Judaism in meaningful and accessible ways.
Compensation: $50-$60 per hour, depending on experience.

- Experience working with elementary-aged children.
- Basic knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and values.
- Brings warmth, flexibility, and creativity to their teaching.
- Collaborates well with colleagues and families.
- Is excited to help build an inclusive and welcoming Jewish community.
Your Responsibilities
- Teach for 90 minutes and supervise for 60 minutes each session (10:00 am–12:30 pm, twice per month; teaching takes place from 10:30–12:00)
- Develop lesson plans in collaboration with the Family Learning Director
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
