Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out processes using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Review and update patient medical records accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks or other EMR platforms
- Collect payments, process medical collections, and perform billing tasks aligned with HIPAA compliance and medical coding standards such as CPT, ICD-10, ICD-9
- Maintain organized filing of dental and medical records, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies
- Support clinical staff by managing documentation review, care plan coordination, and appointment reminders
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Front Desk Receptionist in a dental clinic or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical billing, insurance verification, and health information management systems
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, Meditech, Epic or Athenahealth is highly preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person while demonstrating proper phone etiquette and multi-line phone handling skills
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including typing (10 key), filing, and general office management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and accurate data entry
- Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with hospital or healthcare administrative procedures is an advantage
