Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dedicated healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced, Level II Trauma Center. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about emergency medicine and patient service.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including vital signs, wound care, and other medical procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and processing medical records.
- Provide patient education and support, including preparing patients for exams and tests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Work in an outpatient setting, providing care and support to patients with various medical conditions.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology principles.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care, including assisting with procedures and providing emergency care as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to hospital infection control policies.
- Provide medical administrative support, including preparing and managing patient charts, scheduling appointments, and performing insurance verification.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and hospital operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or MA) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology principles.
- Experience working in an emergency medicine or hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
