Job Title: Labeling Associate
Department: Supply Chain
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
This is a CONTRACT position that will last for 3 months.
Job Summary:
The Labeling Associate at Federal Equipment Company plays a key role in ensuring that all equipment, parts, and packaging are labeled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This position involves reviewing label designs, applying labels to products or packaging, and maintaining quality control to ensure that customers receive properly labeled equipment. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced production and distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Label Creation and Application:
- Create, print, and apply labels to equipment, parts, and packaging using automated or manual labeling tools.
- Ensure all labels include accurate product specifications, safety warnings, serial numbers, and other required information.
- Operate and maintain labeling equipment in accordance with company procedures.
2. Compliance and Standards:
- Verify that all labels meet company standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO, or industry-specific guidelines) for specific industries like pharmaceuticals, food packaging, or industrial machinery.
- Stay up-to-date on labeling regulations and assist in implementing changes as needed.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Inspect labeled products to ensure that labels are properly aligned, legible, and free of errors.
- Identify and resolve issues such as misprints, incorrect information, or defective labels in a timely manner.
- Document and report any discrepancies or quality concerns to the Labeling Supervisor or Quality Assurance team.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Quality Control, Operations, and Shipping teams to ensure labels are applied in alignment with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Support the packaging and shipping teams by ensuring all outgoing products are labeled correctly and meet customer expectations.
5. Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of labeling activities, including label versions, lot numbers, and production logs.
- Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of labeling supplies (e.g., label stock, ink, and other materials).
6. Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of labeling machines to ensure minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs or replacements as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in labeling, production, or quality control, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with labeling equipment, tools, and software.
- Knowledge of industry-specific labeling regulations (e.g., FDA for pharmaceuticals or safety guidelines for industrial equipment) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and ensure accuracy.
- Good organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, labeling software).
Work Environment:
- This position operates in a manufacturing and warehousing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and occasional heavy lifting.
- May require standing for extended periods and manual dexterity to apply labels and operate machines.
