JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Estimator Department: Office
Classification: Full Time/Non-exempt Supervisor: VP of Sales/Marketing
No. of hours: 40/week
Position Summary: An inside sales representative is a professional who converts pre-qualified leads and generates business with existing customers. They process customer quote requests and enter completed quotes into the ERP system with accuracy and within specified time frames. Inside Sales processes and reviews all purchase orders before handing them off for entry into our ERP system.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Respond to customer requests for quotes received via phone, fax or email.
2. Review RFQs and, if necessary, contact customer to verify type of material, quantity, price, required lead time, and other specifications required to complete accurate quote using National’s door and frame quotation sheets.
3. Consult with the Director of Operations on special circumstances, lead times, and unique production requirements.
4. Prepare and submit accurate, detailed, and complete customer quotes within National’s standard time frames.
5. Enter completed quotes into the ERP system with all information necessary to convert the quote into an order.
6. Analyze blueprints, architectural and CAD drawings, plans, and specifications to determine scope of work and pricing.
7. Provide prepaid freight options and pricing on all quotes.
8. Calculate and include on quotes the additional costs and weight to be added for packaging and crating.
9. Follow up on completed quote requests with the customer in order to achieve the sale.
10. Process customer purchase orders, confirming details and resolving any discrepancies between National’s quote and customer’s purchase order.
11. As necessary, order required special materials from approved third party vendors in order to meet EOP production and shipping schedules.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associates Degree or related industry experience required; College Degree preferred.
- Customer service background.
