About the Position
Teya Support Services is seeking a dependable and self-motivated Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and appearance of a secure U.S. Government facility. This position is ideal for an experienced handyman or maintenance professional who enjoys working independently and takes pride in keeping facilities safe, functional, and well maintained.
The selected candidate will perform three scheduled site visits per week to inspect facility systems, identify maintenance needs, and complete minor repairs while ensuring the site remains operational and presentable.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of the facility and exterior grounds
- Inspect and maintain:
- Fencing and gates
- Sidewalks and walkways
- Landscaping and irrigation systems
- Exterior lighting
- Plumbing fixtures and latrine facilities
- Turnstiles and access points
- General site appearance and cleanliness
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs including:
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Irrigation
- Painting and touch-ups
- Carpentry and miscellaneous handyman work
- Identify maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Document completed work and communicate findings to the Program Manager
- Coordinate with subcontractors or vendors when specialized repairs are required
- Respond to occasional urgent maintenance requests, as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, or handyman services
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, irrigation, painting, and carpentry repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor maintenance issues independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Requirements
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain access to a U.S. military installation (background screening required)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
