The Technician supports the installation of structured cabling systems within data center and mission-critical environments. This entry-level position works under the guidance of experienced technicians and supervisors to perform basic installation, routing, labeling, and testing of copper and fiber cabling infrastructure. The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the telecommunications field.

Follow all company and client safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe job site environment.

Assist with the installation of copper and fiber cabling, pathway systems, and related hardware components.

Prepare tools, materials, and work areas for installation tasks.

Perform cable pulling, routing, and dressing under supervision according to standards.

Label and organize cables and components as directed by the Project Lead or Technician.

Support job site cleanup and maintain compliance with housekeeping and safety standards.

Identify and report unsafe conditions or quality concerns immediately to supervision.

Follow all quality and productivity standards established by Network Connex and the customer.

Maintain a professional attitude and represent Network Connex with integrity and teamwork on-site.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

0 to 1 year of experience in cabling, construction, or a related trade preferred.

OSHA 10 certification preferred – must obtain within 90 days of hire.

First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Basic understanding of copper and fiber cabling standards preferred.

BICSI or Fiber Optic Association training or certification considered a plus.
This position does not have direct reports.
This position is on-site daily. Minimal travel (approximately 50%) is expected. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as may be required by Network Connex.
The standard work environment for this position is primarily indoors, though outdoor work may occasionally be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach, and communicate effectively. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The individual may also be required to work from heights and in tight, confined spaces.
