Duties
- Operate and monitor extrusion machinery, including plastics extrusion lines, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with industrial equipment such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC lathes, press brake machines, and robotic systems to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive checks on extrusion equipment and related machinery to sustain peak operational efficiency.
- Utilize hand tools and machining skills for assembly, repairs, and adjustments of equipment components.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity across the production line.
- Handle materials safely within warehouse environments, including materials handling and forklift operation, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Support engineering troubleshooting efforts by diagnosing mechanical or electrical faults in extrusion systems or ancillary equipment.
- Training team members on machine operation, safety procedures, measurement techniques, and quality inspection standards.
Qualifications
- Proven plastics extrusion experience with a strong understanding of plastics blow molding, injection molding, and production processes.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial equipment troubleshooting including PLCs, CNC machines, robotic systems, and press brake machines.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments for machining and quality control.
- Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately for quality inspection purposes.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to manufacturing environments; committed to maintaining a safe work area at all times.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot engineering or industrial equipment issues efficiently.
- Warehouse experience including materials handling and forklift operation certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments are essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
